Johnny Hallyday “living dead”: Nathalie Baye lets go of the singer’s last months… and it’s violent!

Tuesday July 26, 2022, Nathalie Baye gave an interview to the Journal du Dimanche. The ex-wife of Johnny Hallyday took the opportunity to evoke with emotion the end of life of the singer, who was suffering from lung cancer.

They loved each other for four years… Between 1982 and 1986, Johnny Hallyday and Nathalie Baye were in a relationship. If the relationship between the two artists did not last, they kept a deep affection for each other over the years. Tuesday July 26, 2022, in the columns of Sunday newspaper, the actress has agreed to deliver her first impression of the father of their daughter, Laura Smet. “A tall man with a pair of cowboy boots. Tanned skin, yellow hair. Behind him, three identical guys, but smaller. They sounded like the Dalton brothers. I thought: what is this stuff?“, she remembered.

Shortly after Johnny Hallyday learned that he had lung cancer, Nathalie Baye accompanied their daughter to Los Angeles, so that she could spend time with her father. With emotion, the actress revealed: “In the last years, he was extremely unhappy in his life. He was all alone, all day, in his office, with the television on. I had never seen him go so badly. He looked like the living dead. I was sad that Laura saw her father in this state.“In 2018 in a press release sent to the Figaro, Nathalie Baye had regretted not having spent more time with her ex-husband at the end of his life. “We loved each other. Our complicity and affection was present until the end. Johnny loved his children, elders David and Laura as well as Jade and Joy. Unfortunately, the elders were the pet peeves of Laeticia Hallyday“, she had lamented.

The confidences of Laeticia Hallyday on the end of life of Johnny

In a long interview with Pointthe singer’s widow confided: “Physically he was weak. His body was just pain. But he never let go. From the beginning of September, the fight became very difficult. His body was starting to fail him and the chemotherapy was no longer working. The disease developed very quickly.“Two months before his death, Johnny Hallyday had to undergo a painful operation. With emotion, Laeticia Hallyday remembered:”At some point, they ask to speak to me. I leave my man and they take me to a room. There, they tell me: ‘Laeticia, the war is over.’ They say: ‘We don’t have any more weapons, his body won’t support anything anymore.’ They repeat: ‘The war is over.’ My world is collapsing. I can not believe. They tell me again: ‘You have to accept that he is going to leave.’
